Basic Firefighting Training Activity

The basic firefighting training activity focuses on providing participants with fundamental knowledge and skills in fire prevention and fire suppression. It is divided into a theoretical section (fire occurrence, types of fire, psychology, prevention, equipment, and emergency response plans) and a practical section (use of various types of fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and fire evacuation drills) in order to prepare participants to effectively handle emergency situations in accordance with legal requirements.

Theoretical Session (Approximately 3 Hours)

  • Fire Theory: Basic knowledge of the elements of fire.
  • Classification of Fires: Types A, B, C, and D, and appropriate firefighting methods for each type.
  • Psychology in Fire Emergencies: Coping with and managing panic during fire incidents.
  • Fire Prevention: Sources of fire and preventive measures.
  • Tools and Equipment: Introduction to various types of firefighting equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Fire Prevention and Suppression Plans: Organization and operational planning within the workplace.

Practical Session (Approximately 3 Hours)

  • Fire Extinguisher Training: Hands-on practice in extinguishing Class A, B, and C fires using real equipment (e.g., dry chemical powder, CO₂, and foam extinguishers).
  • Fire Hose Operation: Training on handling fire hoses and nozzles.
  • Fire Evacuation Drills: Systematic evacuation from buildings to designated assembly points.

Legal Requirements

  • Employers must provide training to at least 40% of employees.
  • The total training duration is approximately one day (6 hours), consisting of 3 hours of theory and 3 hours of practical training.
